With a full-size stage, large dance floor, and newly installed L-Acoustics sound system, the Boulder Theater is consistently rated as one of the Best Places to Dance in Boulder Weekly's Best of Boulder list! We have an in-house bar as well as an in-house kitchen that any outside caterer of your choosing is welcome to use. Our vintage neon marquee also makes for a customizable and memorable photo backdrop.

We hosted our wedding at the Boulder Theater in August and it was the most unique and incredible venue we could have ever imagined. Our guests were shocked from the moment they [saw] our personal message on the outside marquee to the art deco colors of the theater to the overall vibe and authenticity. The BT staff were nothing short of amazing! Kaitlin Hottovy was our onsite contact and she ensured everything went perfectly - including helping my husband with his bow tie :) Between Kaitlin, the AV team, the bartenders (Who created custom cocktails/mocktails for us) all the way to the team responsible for the marquee and of course the security/front of house staff who welcomed our guests at will call...it was all a dream come true. If you're looking for an out of the box venue for your special day, BT is hands down the pick for you.

Everything you need to know before booking your event space

Capacity

The Boulder Theater capacity is depending on your room configuration and can accomodate up to 1000 fully standing guests and 850 fully seated guests.

Venue Rental Inclusions

When you rent the Boulder Theater, your rental fee includes:

State of the Art L'Acoustics K3 PA with Avid S6L audio console
d&b Audiotechnik stage monitors with Avid SC48 audio console
Flown Lighting system with 34 intelligent fixtures and Avolites control
Production Manager to advance technical needs with your live entertainment
Professional production staff: Audio, Lighting, and Stage Manager
Staging Dimensions risers: 6 - 4' x 8' decks with 8"- 24" legs
Personalized marquee on event day
Facility-owned tables and chairs
Private dressing rooms with bathrooms, showers, and laundry
Outside caterers who are licensed and insured are welcome

We are happy to discuss availability and fees for any add-ons outside of this list.

Rental Period

You may rent the Boulder Theater for a 10-hour time period, agreed upon in advance. Any overage will be billed per hour at an agreed upon amount, plus expenses.

Ticketing Information

For ticketed events, use of Boulder Theater's AXS.com ticketing system is required. All ticketed events are subject to a $2.75 per ticket sold facility fee (included in ticket price) in addition to applicable box office service charges. 5% Boulder Admission Tax (Included in ticket price). Non-profit events are not subject to Boulder Admission Tax, however venue settlement MUST be with non-profit organization and 501c3 documentation is required. Otherwise, tax will be collected and paid by the venue.

Licensing Fees

The client is responsible for payment of all music license fees (ASCAP/BMI/SESAC), or the venue will retain at settlement 2% of gross box office receipts for payment.

Marketing

Boulder Theater will provide some marketing for ticketed events, including website listing, social posts, and poster distribution. Additional marketing services are available for purchase.

Merchandise Split

Boulder Theater receives 20% of soft goods sold after 8.845% sales tax. A merch seller can be provided for $75 versus 5% of gross merchandise sales.
